Some of my earliest memories are of drawing, and I've managed to incorporate my art in every job I've had. I've worked professionally as a costumer/designer, graphic artist, illustrator and designer for the past 30 years. I've been involved in magazine and book production and have illustrated seven books and am currently working on the eighth.
I was the costumer for Heritage Square Opera House and their sister operation, Goldenrod Showboat, from 1973 to 1979. I also did other productions around Denver for Rick Seeber and costumes for a nightclub act.
I have designed many quilts of which about 20 have been published in "Quiltmaker" and "Quilter's Newsletter Magazine." A current best seller is called "Cat Nap." I also designed and illustrated one of the first continuous machine-quilting collections, and designed machine embroidery, which was published in McCall's sewing patterns.
I designed several books for Shortland Publishing Company. These books were for Kindergarten through third grade and had to accommodate both English and Spanish translations. I illustrated one book called "Parachutes" that was eventually hardbound because it was so popular.
I have also taught sewing classes at consumer tradeshows. Plus I wrote and presented over 30 segments for a PBS production called "Sew Young, Sew Fun" for the Husqvarna Viking Corporation.
I was the art director for a business-to-business magazine called "Craftrends," and last but not least I was the editor in chief of "Sew News" magazine.
I'm married and have two adult children. I enjoy drawing, painting, cooking, gardening, knitting, reading, sewing, and snowboarding.
